Scholarships

As a full time international undergraduate student, tuition fees shall be fully or partially waived according to the following conditions:

* No scholarship shall be paid to students who have enrolled in the 9th semester or higher

Tuition waiver scholarship(Merit-based scholarship)

  • Full tuition waiver for the 1st semester of entrance
  • During the freshman year, students who completed ‘12 credits or more(no credits are obtained when a course is failed)’ and ‘GPA 2.0 or above’ will receive the full tuition waiver for the next semester.
  • From the sophomore year, students need to acquire ‘12 credits or more’ and ‘GPA 3.1 or above’ to receive a full tuition waiver for the next semester. Those with GPA 2.7 or above will receive a half tuition waiver for the next semester.

Global UNISTAR Scholarship

Selection criteria: Awarded at an International Olympiad and recommended by UNIST Admission Committee.

  • Gold: KRW630,000/month
  • Silver: KRW330,000/month

Other than the above, international undergraduates are eligible to receive a one-time financial aid and/or receive a UNIST global dream scholarship.

* One-time Financial Aid: KRW 500,000 upon arrival

UNIST global dream scholarship

UNIST global dream scholarship will not be given to anyone granted a Global UNISTAR Scholarship recipient.

  • Dream scholarship: KRW130,000/month

* Additional to Scholarship, Meal Plan is provided for undergraduate students every semester.

Scholarships

Selection criteria

  • Graduate students who are admitted as Government scholarship students or UNIST scholarship students.
  • Graduate students who are enrolled within 4 semesters for Master’s Program, 8 semesters for Doctoral Program, 12 semesters for MS-Ph.D Program.
  • Students who received the academic warning or achieved fewer than 3 credits in the previous semester shall be excluded.
  • Students who have been placed under probation or stronger shall be excluded.

Scholarship Amount

  • Full tuition fees will be waived
  • After the coursework period, only 1/5 of the regular tuition fees will be waived by the scholarship. So, students who did not complete the course work during the course work period will be required to pay extra tuition fees.
    * Students who benefit from other scholarships shall be excluded according to the regulation.

Stipend

Selection criteria

  • Graduate students who are admitted as Government scholarship student or UNIST scholarship student.
  • Graduate students who are enrolled within 4 semesters for a Master’s Program, 8 semesters for a Doctoral Program, 12 semesters for a MS-Ph.D Program and recommended by the school head and the advisor.
  • Students who received the academic warning or achieved fewer than 3 credits in the previous semester shall be excluded.
  • Students who have been placed under probation or stronger shall be excluded.

Tuition Waiver

  • All graduate students will be admitted as government or UNIST scholarship students (Not applicable to students funded from company)

Stipend

  • Master: KRW 9,600,000/year
  • Ph.D: KRW 13,200,000/year
    * The stipend will be provided monthly.
    * The above is based on the minimum amount and the total amount will be increased according to the participating Lab.
    * Professional∙Special graduate school, Management Engineering students, students who are enrolled exceeding the class period, Students supported by the company, Fellowship recipient such as GPF are no included.

TA Scholarship

Selection criteria

  • Selected by the standard of Teaching Assistant operating plan

Scholarship Amount

  • Head TA: Master’s 300,000 KRW per month, Doctoral 500,000 KRW per month
  • R TA: Master’s 200,000 KRW per month, Doctoral 300,000 KRW per month
  • TA : Master’s 150,000 KRW per month, Doctoral 250,000 KRW per month
