🌊 UNIST Students Explore Ulsan’s Culture at the Whale Festival Field Trip
On September 26th, UNIST international and exchange students joined a one-day field trip to Ulsan’s southern district, supported by Nam-gu Office. The trip offered a wonderful opportunity to explore the city’s nature, culture, and history through a variety of engaging activities.
At Samho Bamboo Forest, participants enjoyed a peaceful “sound walking” experience, listening to the soothing sounds of nature. Then we headed to the Ulsan Migratory Bird Center, learning about the region’s diverse wildlife and ecosystem.
We also visited Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Village, where students experienced the charm of Ulsan’s traditional whaling heritage. The highlight of the day was the Ulsan Whale Festival, where students joined locals to enjoy colorful performances, cultural exhibitions, and food stalls.
The trip concluded at the Ulsan Whale Museum and Jangsaengpo Cultural Warehouse, where students could see beautiful scenery of port side and traditional Korean art.
The field trip was a memorable cultural exchange experience for many students, offering a deeper appreciation for Ulsan’s unique charm and community spirit.
